  WELCOME  TO:
                  CXYTower.com!

TOWER STATUS: Tower is open normal hours.

The FAA has rescinded its decision to close contract towers.  Still, to be certain of funding in Fiscal Year 2014, contact your congressional representatives and ask them to press for a specific allocation to fund contract towers in the FY2104 appropriation.

AIRPORT CLOSURE:
   Rwy 8-26 only closed:
             Saturday, 5/18- 7 AM local (1100 Z) to Sunday, 5/19, 8 PM (5/20-0000 Z).
             Rwy 12-30 remains open.

Monday, May 20 will be  a backup day if weather prevents previous work.

Please Note: The rotating beacon is now on a photo cell, and does NOT indicate when the field is IFR during daylight hours. Tower no longer has control of the beacon.

A diagram indicating the field designations at CXY (used by operations personnel to designate their positions on the field) and areas use by the MYSTC Lakota helicopters can be downloaded HERE.

Pilots/Vehicle operators must use their call sign when reading back runway "Hold Short" instructions.     See the  ATC PROCEDURES tab for info.

With the closing of the tower still possible after Sept.30th, it would be a great idea for all pilots to review AOPA's  Air Safety Institute’sOperations at Nontowered AirportsSafety Advisor .

Not ready to give up on CXY Tower yet?      What you can do!
